The Portable Hardness Tester for Sponge Foam is a digital durometer type C designed test a wide variety of foams and sponges. It has Integrated or Built-in Probe and built-in Microcomputer LSI circuit advanced microprocessor technology and crystal time base that determine a specific scale and provide highly accurate measurement readings with no guessing errors. The resistance toward the indentation of materials are measured quickly with this precision perfect tool. It measures the depth of an indentation in the material created by a given force on a standardized presser foot. Provides a 0~100 value and the LCD digital display features bold, easy to read numbers indicating a specific value, with a 0.1 resolution. The Durometer HT-6510C is our standard model for the measurement of the hardness in shore C from middle hard rubber, gum and thermoplastic.
Hardness plays a huge role particularly in the materials technology. The hardness result makes it possible to conclude on its characteristics such as "how quick it could break?" or "how easy can it be scratched?" It is advisable to use the testing probes on materials with at least 6mm thick and when measuring the sensor should be at least 15mm far from the edges to get the optimum measurement results. You may superimpose (if necessary) several samples to obtain the minimum thickness.
